The Confrérie of Double Enghien was founded in 1984. The members of the Confrérie are part of the cultural and folkloric life of our beautiful region. They are committed to showcasing their beautiful city, Enghien, with its rich historical heritage. The motto of the brotherhood is “In Bono Promptus” (do what is good and savor what is good). Founded by Englebert 1st of Enghien in the 11th century, the city of Enghien has had many breweries since the Middle Ages, including the Brasserie Tennstedt Decroes, bought in 1975 by the Brasserie de Silly. One of the stained glass windows of the decanal church of Enghien shows a representation of the patron saint of brewers: Saint Arnould.
